Music On My Mind 02_16_09February 16th, 2009 by Daron Music on my Mind 06.16.08June 16th, 2008 by Daron So many good things these days… Im obsessed with this.. I guess Pogo is a teenage editor/DJ from Australia. He released a 4 song ep titled Wonderland using samples and parts of Disneys 1951 film Alice In Wonderland. I came across the music about a month ago and found this video last night. Here’s another Pogo Lost My other favorite thing is the new Moby record, Last Night. I found this mix of the album… check it out. I haven’t been the biggest Moby fan but this album is really great. The reviewers have called it old school rave ….. um … ok. If you like it buy it. moby last night mash up
Here in Minnneapolis we have an amazing public radio system and part of that system is The Current . I was listening last night to Mark Wheat’s show (great radio dj) and heard this little gem the Kills Last Days Of Magic .
d- Paul’s BoutiqueMarch 31st, 2008 by Daron Thanks to astroboy69 for the link to here. It’s a website dedicated to samples and references of Paul’s Boutique , the landmark Beastie Boys album. I hadn’t listened that record in years until I bought it on itunes (protection free). What a great record ! A sample masterpiece. Get it, along with the new Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool. Music on my Mind 03.07.08March 8th, 2008 by Daron This is Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Wynton Kelly, Jimmy Cobb, and Paul Chambers playing SO WHAT from KIND OF BLUE. I don’t see Cannonball Adderley anywhere in this clip. What a great track and this live performance is amazing. If you don’t own KIND OF BLUE, you should get it. Hello GoodbyeFebruary 25th, 2008 by Daron As is apparent, we’ve worked on a lot of the Target Advertising Music. Mostly it been through Peterson Milla Hooks (aka PMH) , who are great and super talented. Dave Peterson (their creative director) is by far one of the most talented people in this industry. Bryan Hanna and I collaborated on the first version Hello Goodbye (the one with Sophia Shorai singing). The second we finished the demo we knew we had done something special. There is a sincerity about the track thats hard to create or even plan for, and I can’t say enough good things about Sophia. She is a great talent. Here’s the 60. hello_goodbye_60.mp3 So, on to what’s happening now. Bryan just finished another Hello Goodbye for Target Home. It’s super cool. I cant publish it because it hasn’t aired yet. Super double extra top secret stuff. I can say that its kind of Dexys Midnight baroque guitar pop with Allen Clapp from The Orange Peels singing. |
