Archive for the ‘daron walker’ Categorymusic for changeApril 29th, 2009 by Daron I picked this up off Gizmodo Couple of things : first I love Bob Marley so Im sort of a sucker for most things Marley except for the new Jamaica Tourism TV spots and frat boys with dread wigs, second, speaking as an audio pro the scope and difficulty of this project is huge. Its a bit cheezy, but check it out, and go to there site Playing for Change and read about the poject.
d- QR CODESApril 24th, 2009 by Daron Josh from Runner Runner hooked me up with this http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ QR Codes are bar codes you generate that represent information, like html, text etc. Caleb and I were discussing a future art project, so Im trying to spread the word so when we begin this new project at least some people will know what a QR Code is and how to recognize one. If you have an IPhone, the app you need for scanning/reading is called Bee Tag Reader Here is One for this Blog. d- Geeky Turntable StuffApril 21st, 2009 by Daron If you are looking for reference material (manuals etc) and general geeky turntable stuff then check out vinyl engines. Taliban Biker GangApril 17th, 2009 by Daron Is this the Islamic version of The Wild One ? The Marlon Brando movie from 1953, is a story about wilding youth that take over a small american town. Sure seems that way. PESHAWAR, Pakistan — The Taliban have advanced deeper into Pakistan by engineering a class revolt that exploits profound fissures between a small group of wealthy landlords and their landless tenants, according to government officials and analysts here. The strategy cleared a path to power for the Taliban in the Swat Valley, where the government allowed Islamic law to be imposed this week, and it carries broad dangers for the rest of Pakistan, particularly the militants’ main goal, the populous heartland of Punjab Province. Does most political/social action come down to economic imbalance ? …..hmmm who’s idea was that ….. ?
d- Reggae 45’sApril 16th, 2009 by Daron I have a bunch of reggae 7″ records, some are released on cd’s etc, but some aren’t and the “versions”(instumental version) on the b-sides are usually only available on the record. So I’ve decided to start posting some of them in MP3 format. Todays offerings are not only one song and it’s version by Alborosie, but also a track by Collie Buddz that uses the Alborosie track sample. (I used the 7″ recording of “come around” so it would have that nice vinyl sound) So if you’re a dj or a remixer …. here you go. Start choppin’
