Eric and Johnny worked super hard on this one. With PMH we made this spot for Target and subsequently for Liberty of London. I asked Eric if he had any thoughts on this one because he had mentioned to me that he wrote the lyrics by watching the pictures from the commercial, and he hilariously said, “we are in a frozen tundra here and I was watching birds and flowers …. and FUCK….” d- Yukon Kornelius plays VailDecember 21st, 2009 by Modern Music Yukon Kornelius rides again. Uniting for another winter destination show, Yukon Kornelius, a supergroup cover-band featuring Modern’s Eric Fawcett on drums, played in Vail as part of the resort’s Snow Daze celebration on December 12th. In addition to the already eclectic line-up, YK was joined this time by Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), and Warren DiMartini (Ratt). New N.E.R.D. The single, “Soldier”, which features Santigold on vocals also features Modern Music composer, Eric Fawcett, on drums. The N.E.R.D. album’s release date is unknown. For Modern Music’s relaunch and new identity, they worked with Caleb Coppock, an amazing artist and graphic designer. He and the team put together an idea to have the dot of Modern’s new logo roll around, looking for its missing piece. Daron Walker and John Hermanson set it to music and the rest is open to your interpretation. Modern Writes Song for Center Stage SequelNovember 11th, 2008 by Modern Music Center Stage 2: Turn It Up is the hip hop sequel to the original ballet focused Center Stage (2000). Those who loved the original are fired up about this belated-but-sure-to-prove-its-cult-following sequel. One thing that made the first film so popular was its energetic soundtrack, the second time around proves no less with The Roots among others collaborating on some of the tracks. Modern Music has also gotten involved, staff composers John Hermanson and Eric Fawcett with Casey Golden wrote “Loosen Up” for the film’s soundtrack featuring Golden and Sophia Shorai. The film debuted November 1st but will air on the Oxygen network Friday, November 14th at 7:30pm and Sunday, November 23 at 4:00pm. The DVD will be released sometime in January 2009.
